Enhancement and Noise Reduction of Very Low Light Level Images

This paper deals with two important problems such as contrast enhancement of very low light level images and denoising. False color noise is focused in this paper.The image taken at night is enhanced by applying the dehaze algorithm to the inverted input image. The image is denoised by using the green component of the joint bilateral filter. It has been noticed that the blue channel had relatively high noise than green channel. The green component of the original image serves as a second image for the joint-bilateral filter to denoise the image.
Thus Low light image is enhanced by using improved haze algorithm and denoising by using joint-bilateral filter,thereby preserving the edges and details in the image.
