Morphological Background detection and Enhancement of Images With Poor Lighting

In this paper, the background of the grey level image due to poor lighting conditions is detected to enhance the contrast . A method was introduced where the image background was approximated by blocks. The original image is divided into blocks, where each block is the subimage of the original image.It introduces new contours when the structuring element is increased.Later, this method is extended to determine the image background without generating new components called transformation by reconstruction..
This contrast transformation normalizes the grey- level intensities, avoiding abrupt changes in illumination there by producing good enhanced image revealing all the details in the image.
